Why Commission Furniture?
Clients commission furniture for a number of reasons including

    1. They want something unique.
    2. They want quality furniture that is hard to find.
    3. They have a specific style/size requirement.
    4. They enjoy being involved in the design process.

Is it Expensive?
Hand-built furniture comes at a price but is often less than you may think. Well-made furniture takes time and high quality materials do cost more. However, costs are kept lower by avoiding retailer’s large mark-ups. Commissioned furniture is usually similar in price to high quality retail outlets but has two distinct advantages—it’s unique and it’s exactly what you want.

Wood Choices
All furniture is constructed from local or imported timber and comes from sustainable sources. The choice of timber for your piece of furniture will depend a little on practicalities but is mostly a personal choice. Click to see a short list of available timbers

How to Commission Furniture
By providing your basic requirements for style and size, a draft design can be drawn up and modifications applied until you are satisfied with the design. You can view samples to help choose the wood type and finish required. After the final design has been agreed, a small deposit will secure time in the workshop schedule and you will know the delivery date. The time it takes for your piece of furniture will depend on design, wood variety and current orders already in progress.
